SSD on 3gb/s

Sequential transfer speeds will be bottlenecked by the port but random read speeds which is what makes the ssd feel snappy won't be affected much.

The 840 Evo is better.

Yes. SSD is even more about access times than raw data transfer - and only the latter will be affected by SATA II.

But is the 840 will be able to use its better perfomance againts mx100 or m500 on sata 3gb/s? Or they will do the same due to the bottleneck?

I'd say no noticeable difference.

you wont really notice anything when you are using the pc. I would go with the MX100 because it is cheap and they are reliable, but when you dont mind the extra cost go for the EVO.

I think when i will get a mobo with 6gb/s then i will get an evo where the extra performance will be actualy felt.

It will but not as much as you think, as already stated, the 'near instant-ness' of an SSD is the random read and writes, which isn't effected as bad as the sequential read and writes drop in speed. 550MB/s down to 285MB/s is noticeable when copying/writing bigger files to it, but smaller files are pretty much just as fast.

 

You will notice going to 6Gbps from 3Gbps, but hardly.

I checked that the random R/W are familiar to 840 evo to crucial mx100 so i think it will be enough for me
