Laptop to replace my old one.

Nice upgrade from the old laptop. Why GT 840m paired with the i7 though? I would've tried to find a laptop with an i5 and a better GPU imo...

Yeah.. The only HP laptop we have is an old HP with a single core Pentium reject (Celeron) clocked at a whopping 1.7GHz (which is the same as my HTC M7) and a 8800M GTS I think is the GPU.

Thermals. HP hates making heatsinks for Pavilion laptops. with an 840m, you have a rather small abount of heat put out.

Ah, they do make fantastic portable hearers I must say myself.

Seems expensive. Used google to convert 650 pounds to dollars. I wouldn't pay more than $600 for this and you paid $1000......... A couple months back, I helped my friend get an 4500u, 745m, 1080p ips display for about $600.

Oh you already have a rig sorry. In that case I would have sent with a Microsoft Surface Pro as a secondary device to compliment your main rig and Cell Phone.

Carl Zeiss Optics are beast in that Phone ... A phone which is used by a professional "National Geographic Photographer" that completely replaced his bulky DSLR gear. My sister has that Phone and it is quite nice to say the leased.

745M is pretty close in performance to 840M, but 840M is a lot better for laptops as it's the less power-hungry, less heat-producing Maxwell platform.

Yeah it's camera scares me... Epic is not really describing it well enough.
