I'm going to assume you mean your wireless card. Check to make sure that your wireless card is in right. If it is in your pci lanes make sure it is plugged in all the way, and if it is onboard make sure there arent any unplugged cables. Some cases come with weird mounting for the wireless antennas.

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.

Did you take enough antistatic precautions when transferring the parts to the new case?

a good option would be to find the driver  for that wifi card before that though is first go to your device manager and check if the wifi device is there if it isnt then you have an issue if there is an X or a yellow triangle get the driver reboot and there you go it should be working again

Well it's not a 100% indication that your PC is shot, but from the wifi card not working to plugging something in that results in the PC not starting, it could be static damage. I don't know much more than that though. Might want to ask some of the other guys on the forum about if your PC is static damaged and what to do. Good luck!

Static damage could be a possibility. One thing I would check though, is to make sure that your PSU (Power Supply) carries enough watts to run all of that hardware. If I understand the original post correctly, you've stuck a R9-270X inside of an existing HP 500 series. The PSUs for those are usually 300W. That may not be enough to drive all the hardware with the new graphics card installed. Check your PSU wattage then see how much the card requires.

i was actually going to suggest that next lol but first i need to check if the software reads it if not then it would be more of a hardware issue  :(

Have you checked under device manager ? have you re-seated the card sometimes its just not put in correctly silly thing but it can happen and take anti static precautions when working inside the machine it definitely decreases your chance of esd

nah i have 8.1, also i checked tons of times if the network card was under my devices and it is.

on the wifi card does it show any led indicators can't really tell from hp website if it does if they're on then it wouldn't be a power issue unless its an incorrect color
