Hi,

I recently decided to build my new computer.

The thing is i really don't know where to start to

Choose my processor. I'm a hardcore gamer, i stream,

Record, host server (sometimes). I use two monitors.

I was really wondering how much would a cpu cost

For what i need.

If you need more information to help me feel free to ask,

Thank you !

Well, you always start with your budget and your needs. You've given us your needs, but we need your budget. Also, where are you located and what currency?

You don't put the cart before the horse, so to speak. Don't just jump to decide your CPU. It doesn't exist in a vacuum.

I would suggest a Xeon or i7 based on what you are doing ad for your budget it will be able to handle games no problem (an i5 could do that) and it will help for rendering and streaming at a decent quality and what not

Yes Yes Legalize Gay Marriage sure, but have you ever considered Weaponizing Gay?

CPU: I5 4690 3.5ghz || MOBO: MSI B85-G43 Gaming Board || RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengance Pro - Red || GPU: Gainward GTX770 Phantom 4gb || PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750W Gold || Case: Thermaltake Urban T31 || SSD: Corsair Force 120GB || HDD: 1TB WD Black

Look, there are two CPU's you might want to choose.

If you are on anything other then the X99 platform and have a $1500 budget on a cpu alone, go with a 4960X.

I would never recomend this to anyone that doesn't have a $1500 budget for just a cpu. Regardless it is a waste of money but you asked for it.

If you are on the X99 platform choose the 5960X, same deal with the 4960X. Waste of money, but you have a massive budget.

If you want to upgrade to X99, go with a 5820K, an X99 board, and the DDR4 ram. That'll fit in the $1500 budget alone, and is in my opinion a far superior upgrade path.

The 1500$ is for the whole setup ...

I might go over i'll have to look.

That's what I thought, was gonna ask to clarify that. An i7 would be best for your build in my opinion.

That's probably your best bet if you need absolutely everything. I'm assuming that's what you meant by "whole setup." If not, let me know and you can probably afford to go X99 and GTX 970.

Na. If you have the budget, it's better to go 2x 970s in SLI. It's one of the rare times when SLI is better than a single card setup. I'd do this:
