Upgrade Time

RockiLocky

Hi guys from the linustechtips Community,

2 years ago I have bought a prebuild PC for around 1000€, since then I only upgraded my GPU. My current PC is not filling my needs anymore, so I decided to upgrade it this year around christmas. Why I want to upgrade is also, because I always have the feeling of too less RAM and I don't have any space left on my HDD and I didn't want to add a new HDD to this PC better I go for a kinda new one.

My current PC Specs are:

I also have the feeling that my Monitor is not really the thing I want so I also decided to get a new Monitor and use this current one as a 2nd Monitor for Overlook of tempretures and such. Was also looking into getting Windows 8.1

So my Budget is 2000€ and I am coming from Austria.

That's what I thought about, but I am really open for every suggsetion:

Hey RockiLocky,

What are you using your build for?
Your plan seems good. What are your plans for the storage (gaming, work, simple storage, streaming, etc.)?
If you are not going to put more pressure the HDD, you can drop to WD Blue (again, depending on what are you using your build for).

Indeed it says that you are going to buy the black edition of the titan... Says that it's already purchased, and u said that u had the non-black one... Make a decision ^^

Since you are going also for programming and live streaming (not only gaming), the build that you are going for looks optimal. WD Blue might be a bit slow for streaming and gaming at the same time. WD Black is the better choice there. :)
Depending on what programming you are going for, you could probably drop to 2x4GB of memory. If you are doing editing or content creation, you would benefit a lot more from 16GB, but if you are doing pure coding, your CPU would be more important.
