Hey guys, so I am going to be doing a video about ram soon and wanted you're input.

So I have tested quite a few of the main games I play and none of them ever seem to bring ram usage even close to 8gb, even with other things going on.

Since the trend now is to get 16gb kit's of ram even though it seems like 8gb is enough, im wondering what ram usage to you guys usually get when gaming, not talking about productivity stuff.

Cheers!

I have 8GB in my rig, Never seen an issue with it, though I do plan to upgrade to 16GB in the future as I would like to fill all the ram slots on my mobo.

Interesting, so it would still be more 'ideal' to recommend people buy a 16gb kit over a 8gb kit?

It really depends, I've noticed Titanfall just kills my resources, usual with 70% of my 8GB of RAM, 50% of my CPU, and 100% of my GPU.

I know the differences between ram speeds (say 1600 vs 2400) on builds that are not running an APU tend to be very minor, and somewhat pointless too.

Although some people have told me that the benefits are real, I havent been able to test out any DDR3 against eachother, I have only tested DDR3 2400 vs DDR4 2400, in which case the difference was massive.

ram overclock is a minor improvement to most circumstances, especially gaming.

never reach over 8gb gaming. i can use chrome tab and get over 12gb ram easliy tho lol

current games rarely use over 8gb, 16gb is more " future proof" i hate saying that......obviously for content creation, more ram will be beneficial, but with the current prices of ram, for a " long term " investment, it kind of makes since to get a 16gb kit
