Need crossfire tips

A friend of mine has the Asus Radeon R9 270 2GB DirectCU II OC and im gonna buy a R9 270x MSI can i buy his and crossfire them or i should just buy the same card as his?

You can buy a DirectCU II and crosfire it with the 270X. The faster card will downclock to the speed of the slower card.

You can crossfire any AMD card of the same architecture, so yes you can. As to which one... Well if they're close in price get the 270x otherwise it wouldn't be worth it. The only reason you should get the 270x is the performance increase in games that don't support crossfire.

im actually gonna take the 270 for free.But i need more power than that so i wanted to crossfire it

I'd say get the DCUII R9 270 as it will look better than MSI and DCUII mix, and perform the same in crossfire.
