Smartphone headphones?

Go to solution Solved by QueenDemetria,

Does anyone know if impedance is a problem with headphones on smartphones (specifically Moto g 2013). Simply because I am thinking about picking up a hyper x cloud and I'm not sure if my phone will power them. It isn't really a problem if they won't work, because they will be primarily used for gaming on my PC.

For your usage you should be fine, but really high impedance headphones cause problems(err, not really problems, but you get my point). The AMP on the Moto G will be fine, its just that it isn't that high of quality so your headphones will be bottlenecked(if that would be the proper term for this)in terms of overall sound quality. If you really need to, you can connect a Asus Xonar U3 via OTG and get your sound through that(I do this because I hate the sound on the G).

You want to use Hyper X Clouds on your phone? What the fuck, why?

I use my Clouds on my Nexus 5 and they work flawlessly so no it couldn't be that. And yes, some people use their gaming headsets that look really nice and are really conformable to listen to music too at times. No need to get hostile.
