(i really ran out of inspiration and creativity on the title, so forgive me. xD )

planning a very cheap pc for a friend. (very busy with building computers recently, seems with me its always binge building)

the cpu is an AMD 3850. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-sd3850jahmbox

i was wondering, whats the best GPU you would pair with this little guy?

You'd be better off going for a 5350, then pairing it with a 260 or a 260x, or if you want low power draw a 750Ti. With the 5350 if you get the right board you can bump up the multiplier a little then OC with the FSB

Regardless of what it's paired with, the lowest I'd go is the R7 260X. It should roughly compete with what's in a PS4.

yeah...

shouldnt be hard to OC that little guy, so finding a card that isnt being bottle neked/bottlenecking (god my mouth tastes bad after saying that) (yes i say what im typing) it.

as far as i know the 5350 and the 3850 are actually the same chip, just ones already overclocked. (AFAIK)

I don't think the 750 ti makes sense unless you're getting it because of your PSU. It costs closer to the price of a 270X than a 260X, and if you're stretching your budget that far the 270X is immensely better.

3850 has a lower and locked multiplier, and doesn't overclock as well as the 5350 can. And the price difference between the two for the performance gain is worth it

Don't get the R7-250, grab the R7-250x. It is much better than the R7-250, almost double the stream processors.

True, but to some people the whole point in getting an AM1 CPU over something like a Pentium is because of the power draw, and to some people the idea of having a 1080p gaming PC that draws under 100w is really attractive

OK, but the sense I got from OP was that they're looking for the ultimate in tight budgeting, not necessarily power draw.

I did notice that was a factor, but people always like to have things that don't cost as much to run. If it was me I'd ask them if they wanted something a little more expensive but will use less power or something cheaper that'll use a bit more power. The difference is negligable though, but I can't remember how much of a performance difference there is.

actually the whole deal was its a 4 core that preforms o-k-ish for under 70 dollars.

when your budget is 750. the difference between 50 bucks and 70 bucks is minimal.

when your budget is 400 including windows.... the difference between 10 bucks and 10 bucks and 3 dollar shipping is pretty important.

xD
