Private Internet Access is very well known for their awesome service and support. They support every platform and are easy to use. You even get a proxy with the vpn as well.

 

Edit: My bad did see the free part until now. Still consider PIA, its only $40 for a year.

There is an app called "Speed VPN", the only downside to it is that you have to press connect every 60 minutes, but hey atleast its free. My school wifi blocked hotspotshield and tor, but speed VPN works, so I like recommending it.
