Hi i have a problem with my homegroup on windows 7. I created a homegroup named - myhome and connected all of my pcs to it and everything was working fine until I had to reinstall the os on one of the laptops named - laptop3. after reinstaling the os and changing the name of laptop i tryed to join the homegroup the laptop didnt find the correct homegroup. It found homegroup named laptop3. So i left the homegroup (myhome) with all other computers. and now when i am trying to create new homegroup i cant because the computer shows that there already is a homegroup named (laptop3). I checked all the computers and non of them are joined to homegroup. I hope you understand what i am trying to explain here because my english isnt very good!! Thanks !!

Try this:

1. Leave homegroup in all computers

2. Make sure that  All Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives are visible (Tools, Folder options, View, Check Hidden files..., Apply to folders)

3. Erase everything inside here "C:Windows/ServiceProfiles/LocalService/AppDataRoaming/PeerNetworking"

4. Type in the search box "Services" and make sure this services are enabled and started:

HomeGroup Listener

HomeGroup Provider

5. Reboot

6. Go to Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center/Choose homegroup and sharing options/Change advanced sharing settings and check:

Allow network discovery

Allow file and printer sharing

Enable file sharing for devices that use 40- or 56- bit encryption

Turn off password protected sharing

let Windows manage your home network connections

7. Make a new Home Group in whatever pc you like

Hope this solve your problem
