Audio cutting in and out.

Just built my PC a couple days ago, and the Audio keeps cutting in and out constantly. I tried re-installing my audio drivers but that didn't work.

Also I should mention I'm running my audio through HDMI. Works fine on my laptop so it's not the cable or the TV .

 

PLEASE HALP

Ar U rinning from the Onboard Sound of your MB or a dedicated soundcard? If you run out of a Soundcard it could be a loose contact on the PCIe-slot. Check if the card is plugged in properly.

Then check the video card ... Although that is fairly unlikely :O

Nah it's not that. If the video card were not plugged in correctly it would just not work at all.

Yeah, that's probably right :). So the only reasons I can imagine are either that the onboard sound is in someway broken (maybe try running sound through a traditional 3.5'' jack?) or that the HDMI output of your video card is broken (does it run images correctly?)

So apparently it works fine with a 3.5 mm jack but just not with the HDMI. I don't know what the deal is

Maybe just a broken HDMI connector on your video card? Did you check, if you can transfer an image over this HDMI port ?

Image quality is perfect. I only have problems with the sound.
