Effect on Lifespan

Hello,

 

Realistically what is the effect on your processors lifespan that overclocking has? Basically i'm just looking to see if anyone has had a chip die on them that was properly cooled. Or they have saw a performance downgrade. I've read it can lead to processor degradation but I don't know what are the downfalls of that extra speed.

Most things that I have read is that they become unstable after years and then you go down to stock clocks. And yeah processors last long enough anyway who cares.

Never once had a CPU degrade, and i have ragged Phenom's past 5ghz on air benching.

Had my 2500k at 5.7ghz at stupid high voltage (1.63v)

Phenom II still does 4.2ghz stable (way above average and is an unlocked dual core)

My 2500k does 5.0ghz stable and 5.2ghz stable, but 5.2 wants 1.45v which pushes the H100 i use.
