Hey guys,

So I have been having this problem for quite a while now, I think its been the same person the last 5 times over the past year or so, I guess when they get bored.

They usually prey on all my online accounts, although ive made things as tight as I can, I have the full version of AVG on my computer and remote access disabled.

I don't think he has gotten onto my computer, although he is boasting that he has some pics of my girlfriend, which I don't think is true at all, since I have AVG, did a full scan and nothing showed up.

It came up with password resets for my facebook, steam and other accounts, although I deleted them, knowing that I don't want to change it, but if somebody had access to my email then they could.

That's what I am worried about, my facebook requires me to enter a code send to my phone when logging in for an unrecognized device and my email is secure to the best of my knowledge.

Is there anything else I can do to keep things secure? any tips or advice would be great

Don't go on the internet :D jokes! You could try another anti-virus software such as Avast! also in combination with anti viral software you could use a malware scanner like "Malwarebytes". Microsoft security essentials is another good one. If your only receiving password change notifications, and the "hacker" isn't successfully changing your password i wouldn't worry about it. Also make sure that you have all your windows updates. If your still concerned that there's something still going on, backup your data and do a fresh install of windows.

Sorry to hear this. Use Quick heal as antivirus, it's the best around. I've been working in a computer shop all week for work experience and I've been installing it religiously. 24/7 world wide support, very fast, light weight, and very easy to use. Buy a copy for your system and call them up if you need a hand, they'll sort you :)

Thanks guys

I have moved all 'sensitive' files over to my external and deleted them off my comp, so that should solve that issue.

I just bought a new 1 year licence for AVG though so I think ill stick to that for now, it has shown to be pretty spot on in the past and I wasn't aware that people could get past it since everything is set to high.

Keylogging shouldn't be an issue, everything auto logs-in so I never actually type the passwords out, meaning that a keylogger wont do anything, but I will try those programs out :)

contact your isp , tell them to change your ip address because a hacker is onto you or w/e.

unplug computer from internet & reformat ( you can always boot from a cd that will write 0's on your hard drive , tho it's kinda a bit paranoid)

encrypt your hard drive(s)

install spybot S&D + malwarebytes

For the future just take note of 4 things, 1. no one has physical access to your PC/Laptop 2. You are using WPA2 with WPS disabled 3. use the best Antivirus and the best Firewall (Firewall is a must). 4. Update windows and every program on your PC to the latest version, inculding flash and browsers.
