gtx 980 framerate problems

i have a gtx 980, and i am having trouble getting past 40fps average on the metro 2033, and LL benchmarks. what can cause this? could it just be bad drivers, or is there some optimisation problem? what sort of things can cause this?

Metro 2033 is notorious for optimization. Try some other games and see if it persists.

tessellation is on very high, i might try it with it on low, and see if there is a noticeable differnce.

You can try Super Sampled AA Off. Have TExture Filtering at 16xAF and motion blur and tessellation at normal. Should give you a boost in fps.

Check your temps, I hope it's not throttling...

Advanced Depth of Field should be killing your Metro 2033 frames. I get 60+FPS with Metro 2033 in DX11 on ultra in 3D (which needs DoF off) so I KNOW something is wrong.
