Hi LTT it's been a while, and I need a bit of advice. I'm getting either a new GPU or CPU for black friday but I'm not sure which is a better choice. I MIGHT get an Intel processor or I might just get an 8370E because my computer's performance with Windows has been increasingly poor, but I also need a new GPU. Is it worth it to get a new FX (or MAYBE an i5-4440) or should I get a Sapphire Radeon 290 Tri-X?

I'd go for a 290, if you overclock the 8120 it should be a good combo :)

I have my 8120 at 4.0GHz and it's hardly noticeable anymore

Getting a 290 will be a much bigger upgrade than getting another amd cpu, but gettin an intel cpu would help quite a bit as well.

Any advice on how I can get my PC up to speed again? I'll be getting an SSD soon enough but anything I can do until then?

Might as well just wait until I get an SSD to do that then
