Future Computer Build Questions

Go to solution Solved by SuperPug,

Yes the 450W psu will suffice for the upgrade but if you're planning on getting those components anyway you should save a little longer and get them to begin with. Btw you dont need a 4790 to run a gtx 970 you can get a cheaper CPU (4690 or even 4460)

Alright, I plan on building my first computer pretty soon and I had some questions on whether or not what i'm picking out are my best options

Here is what I plan on putting in my build:

CPU: Intel Core I3 4150

GPU: MSI AMD R7 265

MOBO: MSI Mini ITX LGA 1150 H97I AC Motherboard

RAM: Crucial Ballistix very low profile single 8gb DDR3 stick

PSU: Silverstone 450w 80+ Gold  SFX modular power supply

CASE: Silverstone Sugo SG05 Mini-ITX Case Lite

HD: Crucial MX100 256gb SSD

Total Cost = $675 (Prices are all from amazon)

Total Cost with Windows 8.1 = $767 (Prices are all from amazon)

The reason why I chose a single 8gb stick is for the future option of adding another and simply it $12 Dollars cheaper than 2x4gb sticks.

Questions for the future:

Will I be able to put a Intel Core I7 4790 and gtx 970 in the future with only the 450w PSU or do I need the 600w SFX from SilverStone? (I really would like to save the $30 Bucks lol)

Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help!

I agree with SuperPug, unless it's gonna take you months to save and need a computer now, I would just wait a little bit and start with a GTX 970 and i5 or i7

Black/Red Beast: CPU: i7 4790k Cooling: Hyper 212 Evo MB: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 GPU: MSI GTX 980 RAM: 16GB 1866 HyperFury X SSD: 256GB Samsung Evo 840
