So I'm looking to spend about 1200-1400 for a gaming rig. Never built one so I have no clue where and how. I'm currently looking at the g20 asus , it's prebuilt with i7-4790 and gtx 760 8 gb ram for 1199 but it's not upgradable.

What can I get better than this? Something I can put sli in the future and other goods stuff I can expand and upgrades .

Also which monitor is be best under 400?

Please help me thanks!

Build a computer.

I bought and AIO, and I kinda regret it.

But it's Samsung so... :P

Budget, location, and needs?

Do you need an OS?

Do you only need a monitor or do you need peripherals also?

Yeah i agree you could totally build something better, there are other perks too when you've got time and effort put into it. PC's are ment to be a thing of glory and having someone build it for you takes out the novelty of it all and normally theres alot more customization you can get without buying a premade. Is there a specific side your going for, AMD or Intel? what are you going to be doing with it?

I suggest that you watch this and decide if building a PC is for you. Some people just have no way of getting it into their minds that building a PC is doable.

And in that budget you've got. You can get a sick rig my friend. Ask around on the forums and I promise that people will help you with budget and component questions.

And remember, when posting about PC builds, ALWAYS USE PCPARTPICKER as well as the Export/Markup - BBCode feature.

Thanks and welcome to the forum!

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

No it doesn't include the monitor. 400 monitor is separate. I owe a 27 inch asus mx27 and I think it's good. But is there something better under 400?

For my tower, I'm looking for something i can expand later on as well. So a build that has to be upgradable. I want to eventually use double or maybe even triple sli in the future but as of right now my budget is 1200-1400. I was gonna buy a prebuilt game at frys since I have credit card there but I'm not sure what's the best decision for me..

Don't ever buy a prebuilt if you're main objective is gaming.

What's your location? Canada, USA, UK, etc?

And I forgot to mention this earlier.

So, I think the post by

STRMfrmXMN

nails most of my thoughts and advice.  I'd just like to reiterate that I think you can build a much better rig for your dollar, and also that I just recently took the plunge into pc building recently too.  I had been away from the game for about 10 years and so it was like starting all over again.  But after watching a ton of the awesome build guides by Linus I felt confident enough to try it and it went awesomely.  Don't be too afraid to give it a try. Building pc's is a lot more simple these days and this forum has great resources.

Build your own! :D

You'll end up learning quite a bit on the way too and you'll probably end up liking it quite a bit. Not to mention there is a huge amount of resources out there to help you, including this place.

Also welcome to the forums!

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?
