Installing Win8

I'm trying to install windows 8 x64..the problem is my pc doesn't want to read my flashdrive as a bootable device. I cant access my bios because it is locked. What to do?

Did you only copy the files from a Windows DVD? You have to write the .ISO to the flash drive using a utility.

What do you mean locked?

You also need to make the flash drive bootable, flash drives natively don't have bootcode on them.

I did try to make it bootable. ANd its locked with a password, By HP

It didn't help..I think its something with my laptop itself. I'll just keep windows 7 on it until I finish my PC.
