Graphics Cards

ThatNorwegianGuy

hey, just installed my Asus ROG 7970 matrix platinum card. this is my first radeon card and i am not used to any of this.

problems:

1: its about 1cm of dead space between the end of the picture and the frame of my monitor. how do i get that to go away`?

2: my old Nvidia GTX 560ti delivered a better picture when i did other things then gaming. thins new card only preformes in games. is there something i can do to change that`?

That dead space between picture en bezel can be fixed by going into CCC and adjusting the scaling. Don't know exactly where the option is but if you look around a bit you'll find it.

Also what do you mean with your second question? What do you mean with ''better picture''?

That's still really now specific. Are you using the same kind of connector? ie. DVI or VGA?

what connector were you using on your 560 ti and what are you currently using? it may cause the image quality problems aswell as the bordering thing

I recognize that problem. I had it when I installed my HD6870. It disappeared after a few reboots though.

Also, i know some Samsung monitors do some automated adjustments and i sometimes get borders, it can be solved from the CCC in your case, check for 16/9 or 16/10 interferrences

Something to double check is to make sur there's no lingering drivers from your previous card by using Treexy (formerly Driver Sweeper). My friend had the same poor image quality when upgrading from an older nvidia card to a newer one. As for the empty space adjust the scaling withing the AMD drivers as others have suggested.

Maybe this is silly, but have you check the resolution your card is using is the native resolution of your display?

Okay, Check

A) You have the right resolution set in CCC (Desktop management -> Desktop properties)

B) if you have GPU Scaling on turn it off - Or if you haven't try turning it on

C) Under My digital Flat Panels in CCC check if the scaling options for the monitor have underscan all the way to 0%

I think that is everything for it in CCC
