Okay so how could I go about this? I would like to attract more viewers, Reason for this is so I can socialise with the community more, but I am currently getting 1 viewer per stream, not the same one they change but none seem to talk.

Any ideas on what I should change to gain more followers?

Thanks

Depends on which game your are playing. Also, are you the entertainer type or the skill type? If you are an entertainer then you should have good charisma for your viewers, if you are the skill type then you should be knowledgeable about the game you are playing, gives tips about how to get better, some insight commentary maybe? Those are pretty much the things I'm looking for when I watch Twitch to be honest. Hope it was of any help to you, and good luck ;D

I would start of by making sure your quality is enjoyable, because nobody wants to watch a stream thats stuttering, blocky due to low bitrate, scratchy annoying audio etc. A good thing to start off is playing with viewers and make sure to talk directly too them and ask them whats up. People go back to streams not so much for the game, but the relationship they have with the streamer. In the beginning you will attract people by your skill at a certain game or the game itself, but as long as your quality is good, and your interactive they will come. I used to stream zombies with around 1,500 followers and would pull close to 100 viewers a stream which was pretty amazing, but college caught up lol. The viewers will come if, I went 2-3 months streaming without getting more than 1 to 2 viewers.

Well I stream using Xsplit Gamecaster, OBS just never worked correctly, it was always stuttering in terms of FPS no matter what I did, and I do not want to lower below 720p, anyways my i5 as far as I know will not stream at 1080p, so I opted for 720p 60fps, and its still a tad blocky, ideas on how I can improve this? maybe move to broadcaster and set that up?

I have 37mbps DL / 9mbps UL, so what bit rate should I run at? 3k? what other settings should I change?

Also how should I start to engage them? while I would consider my self better than some others at wow, I am not the best, and I am not too popular on twitter although I am going to make a new twitter for it so I can broadcast when I start.

Should I get a webcam also? I am tempted to setup my DSLR for video, its sat there doing nothing anyways, my mic is fairly good for a headset, so I just use that, its clean for the price I paid.

I play WoW most of the time, and I have a lot experience from the old WoW (pre cata) but I would consider neither in a way, I would much prefer to speak to the audience, so what tips would you suggest?

Would music be a good idea also?

Music is usually a must have, mainstream music of course. Unless your channel is popular, in which case you can play any "weird" genre you want. Also, I don't think having pre-cata experience will help (cuz I got experience till MoP) since most people already know the game, and are trying to find someone better than them (thus, the knowledgeable type), or you could simply goof around in arena with some friends, and make people laugh. The thing is, most starting or unrecognized channels on Twitch have a dead chat, people won't talk with you without knowing you first (I can tell you that cuz I remember searching for a StarFox 64 stream, I tuned in, and I was the only one watching it, of course I didn't even bothered chatting with him), so I think before socializing with your viewers you should start by getting them, know what I mean?

Well for starts OBS is superior in everyway to Xsplit and free.... I could make you a quick tutorial on youtube for how to optimize the settings best, because you should be getting better framerates and less lag with OBS. Most people also don't have good enough internet to run 1080p stream in the first place. I recommend streaming at 3k to 5k bitrate for the best quality, but of course it seems quality isn't the problem for you. Just keep streaming make a usual time you do it and if you're really dedicated do it every day at the same time. The viewers will come it will just take awhile of constantly streaming and it is pretty hard to build a viewer base if you dont start with doing it everyday.

Yeah please, I would love a guide :) do it in text if you dont have the time for video :), and yeah I do a stream everyday at 9.30 to 11.30, as its as much time as I have, I do a random stream in the evening when I get time.

Also I hear Twitch does not like you to stream over 3.5k?
