Hi can you please give me some advice on my projected pc build, this is the first pc i am building.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming G1 WIFI-BK ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Storage:Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card

Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

I do plan to upgrade to 2 GTX 970s one day...

Also will there be any compatibility issues, bottlenecks or another other complications that i might face?

And are there any optical drives to recommend as well as casing?

And will i be able to run games on ultra with this setup with a decent fps? :P

Please and thank you!

imo I would just get the i5-4690K, the i7 doesn't do much extra for gaming tbh

youve got a locked cpu with an unlocked board, and like the dude above me said, the Ci7 cpu's give little to no gaming benefit, save the money and get a 4690k ^_^

other than that, you will need a hdd (1tb pref.) and that psu is way overkill even for 2 970's.

also, 8 gigs of ram should do you just fine for gaming :D

casing is a lot of personal choice, just get whatever you think looks great and something you can afford + optical drives arent very important but if you need one, just get whatever one has good ratings.

edit: and you didnt choose a cpu cooler :S

heres what i would get for gaming:

Is it an issue using a locked cpu with an unlocked board? Cause ii was  looking at the h97 someone reccommended to me however it does not support SLI.

Fools often give advice it is best to ignore them. Get a K cpu and a Z97 board. No need for a high end board.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.
