AHCI mode

Whenever I change my boot mode to AHCI rather than native for my SSD it just goes into a boot loop and I cannot actually get onto my computer. This is my first SSD so please help I think it may be because my motherboard doesn't support SATA 3 though.

 

SSD: Samsung pro 840 256gb

Shouldn't matter whether it supports sata 3 or not, I have a sata 2 port works perfectly. Is windows already installed?

There is a registry key you have to change in order to get AHCI mode to work. Its different based on what OS your using.

 

I know because i had to recently do this myself.

I'm using windows 8 so mine was a little different, but that should work for you.
