Hello,

I am looking for an 80-plus platinum certified power supply that I will be using to support overclocking 3-way SLI (GTX 980's), and I am deciding between the EVGA 1000 Supernova P2 and the Corsair HX1000i.

EVGA 1000 Supernova P2 Link:

Corsair HX1000i Link:

The main difference that I am seeing between the two (other than brand) is the Corsair Link Digital tech. Is this something worth looking into?

What do you guys think of these choices? Or do you think that it would be better if I were to purchase a lesser wattage power supply?

Thanks in advance!

@pcalexander Corsair link isn't really worth it. The price difference is fairly big and the p2 is MUCH better. And it comes with a ridiculous 10 year warranty. But just so you know, you don't need any where near 1000w. Linus did a 4 way sli 980 rig and it pulled under 700W. You are better off spending a lot less and getting a 850w g2 IMO another insanely good if not the best psu in it's price bracket. That is of course unless you are going full water blocks and overvolting the gpu's as well then yeah 1000w p2 for sure.

I go with P2 JohnnyGuru give that a perfect 10 outta 10 and Evga praising that everytime you go there website and It cheaper and better looking and you get color cables for it on EVGA website or newegg or amazon (I think).

PS: Take one 980 out and give it to me I want another 980 so I can run it in Sli :P

Thanks for the quick replies everyone!

I decided to go with the 1000w P2 for just a little bit more headroom than an 850w power supply would give me for overclocking.

Also, it seems like most people here prefer the P2 over the corsair product.
