Worth it for what?

If you're talking about raw price, it will always be cheaper to buy the parts and assemble it yourself rather than buying a prebuilt PC. That being said, some people just don't want to deal with the hassle of putting it together, and they'd most likely be more than happy with paying the extra money to get a prebuilt that they don't have to worry about.

 

Hardware is hardware. Two rigs with the same hardware will perform pretty much identically; it doesn't matter who built them.
