Replacement for dying Auria EQ276W?

So I've had this monitor for about two and a half years, and considering the price I paid, it's been a love/hate relationship the whole time. It seems fine now, but earlier this week, I was getting a ton of "snowflaking," and upon gently whacking the top corner, the monitor went spastic, went black, then came back. I have other gripes with this monitor, but I'll toss them into a spoiler tag, since they aren't what this thread is about.

Major gripes with this monitor:
  • No POST/BIOS/Windows loading display. The screen is in standby till the desktop. Oddly enough, back when I was using a Geforce 9800GT, I was able to see it, but not with a modern card.
  • HORRENDOUS input lag. Noticeable in almost every game, and even when dragging windows around the desktop.
  • Extremely wobbly stand, in order to tilt it back, you actually have to tilt through maybe 20 degrees of "slack" to encounter any friction.
  • Bezels are huge, over an inch.

Quick video of what my monitor was doing after the first "whack." (DVI cable was fully secured)

Needless to say, I am looking at replacing it, and am considering going back down to 1080p, but with a higher end IPS display. I value color accuracy/vibrancy over refresh rates, and have no need for anything higher than 60hz. When I do want something higher, it's when G-Sync, or any similar tech that comes out comes down in price. I also don't have the graphics horsepower to push that framerate. I also would rather drop settings in game for Nvidia Surroud rather than framerates, which leads me to..

I've been eye-balling the new Dell S2415H, which is a glossy 1080p IPS panel. The reason I am wanting to go back down to 1080p is because I have been wanting to try out Nvidia Surround for a long time, and with the bezels on this display, it looks like it would be great.

There only seems to be one in-depth review for this monitor, and barely any footage of it in action, but it seems to be a great monitor for the price, and when set to "Normal," the pixel overdrive is basically eliminated, which was a problem with prior S models.

Any input guys? I'm putting my budget at $250. After spending $400 on the Auria in 2012, I'm not willing to spend that kind of money again unless it's a known higher-end brand.

What are some of your favorite thin-bezel displays?
