dude, gpus dont matter as long as its decent. my dads gt 9800 pulls a constant 300 fps. my 7950 at 1200 mhz pulls right about 350-400 fps. trust me, their is a pretty big hardware gap. but he has a I7-2500k, and i have a i5-3570k.

I'm running a 970 OC'd to perform like a stock 980 and it down clocks and gets 400 fps at  250ish mhz. My GT 640 pulled 250fps! It really depends on CPU (not even RAM as long as you can dedicate 1-2GB). I went from an i3-2100 getting 90fps to a i7-3770k @ 4.4GHz getting 400fps. FPS usually stays at 400 even if you use shaders.

Everyone play minecraft will have their own mod pack. So the FPS doesnt mean anything. Also, some mods can destroy the frame rate of any GPUs.
