About $1000, give or take.

Mainly gaming, youtube & netflix watching, and schoolwork w/ word and google drive.

I don't know much about overclocking, so idk yet.

Idk about an ssd....what would the reason be?

If you don't plan to OC get a i5 without a K.

If you can get a GTX 970 for a video card

SSD makes loading files faster.  I would heavily suggest getting a 128Gb SSD.

Because he had a hard drive.

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1231 V3 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($248.98 @ SuperBiiz)

Motherboard: ASRock B85 Pro4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($80.66 @ Newegg)

Storage: Crucial MX100 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($69.93 @ Amazon)

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB ACX 2.0 Video Card  ($329.99 @ NCIX US)

Case: Cooler Master N400 ATX Mid Tower Case  ($54.99 @ Micro Center)

Total: $1011.19

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

xeon is i7 without integreated gpuc, which you dont need cause you have a graphics card. also it will crush i5´s in multithreared applications

you dont need a cpou cooler, but the arctic 7 is quite compared to the stock cooler really cheap  and my cpu never rises above 48 degrees .

gtx 970 is a really good gpu. i would recommend spend 30$ more and get one from MSI or Gigabite.

SSD is really neccessary..trust me in a few years you will like it that you pc boots in 10 seconds and not 3 minutes

the case is from a relayable company and it comes with 2 case fans

OK........If i want to stay in my budget, I only can spend about $800 on the computer, then 2 or so on the monitor......So, I would love to get one of those, they are just too expensive for me right now.......Are there any cheaper ones with close to the same performance?

you wont have any difference between this pc and the previous i posted on games.
the only thing that this one does video edditing a little slower if thats important to you.
i use the same display thats why i recommend it. but there are other cheap displays for 1080p 24" if you dont want to cross the 1000$ budget :)
or you could also skip the cooler and go with the stock one...thats another 18$ saved.

Video Editing is not important to me.  Does the motherboard matter that much?

The Gigabyte Windforce R9 290 has been running for $222, or a Powercolor R9 290X for $300. The new R9 series prices are putting pressure on the GTX 900 series.

Yea true.

When I bought my 270x Direct CU II, it was about the same price as the 280x is now...

lol
