I am planning to upgrade my pc, based on the msi 970A-G46 AM3+ motherboard, and ran into some sort of a dilemma.

Pricing is not important, as pricing from my country is not relevant. I have the following options:

FX 8320
Gigabyte's gtx 760 windforce 3x card

Corsair H55 closed loop cooler.

FX 6300
Gigabyte's R9 290 windforce 3x card

I have to mention that right now i have a deepcool ice wind pro air cooler (http://www.deepcool.com/product/cpucooler/2013-12/7_422.shtml ) which manages to keep my phenom ii x4 at 4.2 ghz with reasonable temps. The only problem is that currently it is blocking one of my memory slots. I am planning to overclock any cpu I get until I hit the thermal limit of my cooler.

Which of these 3 options would you choose? Would it be worth going with the 6300? The main focus of this rig will be gaming and some video editing.

Ps: Sorry if i posted in the wrong section.

Sorry for posting where I should't have, but I haven't found a section where gpu's and cpu's could be discussed at the same time. If it would be possible I would like a moderator to move the thread to an appropriate subforum.

Also, the 8350 is too much compared to the 8320. I read they are basically the same chip with just a lower clock speed on the **20. The difference is something like 80$. I am going to overclock any cpu I will get.

i would say go with whichever has the better video card if your going for gaming.

I was thinking about it too, but wouldn't the fx 6300 bottleneck the r9 290 ?

Probably won't bottle neck although are you buying these components new? cause i don't really see why you wouldn't go with dual 980s instead of 3 290s idk just a suggestion probably will save you a bit of money.

Edit: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/MngMmG see you can get the better CPU along with the dual 980s for cheaper

You got the idea wrong j.dirona, the 3x stands for gigabyte's cooler choice.

Yes, I am buying these components new, but the prices in my country are too high to afford anything more. With the price of 2 980's I can get a decent second hand car around here.
