Program that disables Windows key while gaming?

Alright, so both my laptop keyboard and my desktop keyboard do not have the function of shutting off the Windows key functionality.  I have hit the key countless times while gaming, and am wondering if there's software that can help me out here.  Any suggestions?

Oh my god, I hate that button when I'm gaming. SO. FREAKING MUCH. Also, that little key next to the right start key also annoys me, so I just ripped that little bugger out.

I understand the pain of the windows key but am i the only one who doesn't seem to press it while gaming? and no sorry i don't know of any software that isnt just extra stuff for keyboards like razer synapse

A lot of games have it hidden in there settings and a lot of gaming keyboards also have a physical off switch...

With normal membrane keyboards you cant actuate it without sticking something in the gap

I don't have a membrane keyboard though. I have the keyboard on my Y40, and I have a Das Keyboard Professional Model S.

You could get a keyboard that has a button to disable that button, mine does (G710+).

Not doing that. My Das Keyboard is amazing, and I'm not replacing it for a good amount of time.

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Just get a keyblocker. Little thing you can insert under the key itself so even if you press it it cant bottom out or actuate. buy one or a do some easy DIY.

That's great, but as I said, I do happen to use the Windows key outside of games...

I don't think that is right. I have owned tons of membrane keyboards and the buttons works perfectly fine without keycaps. Just collapsing the membrane like normal actuates it.

I had a membrane keyboard where you couldn't push the keys when the keycaps were not installed.

Can someone explain to me the issue with the windows key? What does it do to people? Almost every high end keyboard has a lock windows button...why?

I had a membrane keyboard where you couldn't push the keys when the keycaps were not installed.

 

he keyboards I've used were the newish Mac keyboards(that come with Macs) and the laptop ones in the Dell Lattitude series and from what I can tell they seem to be the same switches. The mac had chic-let keys while the dell had standard but the rubber domes from what I remember were about the same. I don't really know why you weren't able to or maybe we used diffrent kinds of rubber domes or something.

 

the dell ones have a tube sticking out and the rubber dome is in the tube at the bottom. Is this membrane?
