I'm going to disagree.

WPS is very insecure and I personally would suggest that you disable it, but it ultimately depends on how secure/paranoid you want to be/are.

I read that you can brute force the pin number thing when you try to connect the 2 devices together. But is it the same for the pbm style of connecting.

The push button connect itself is pretty secure from remote attackers, but the issue is (from my knowledge) you cannot disable the pin authentication (it's a violation of the WPS standard that manufacturers have to adhere to).

I see... I will use it for the time being and when i have the time i will learn how to properly set-up a printer network, it will be a good skill to learn anyway. Would you by any chance know any guide to make such a set-up relatively secure.

What printer are you using? Are you using a wireless network that the printer creates?

Does the print have ethernet? If so, could you connect it to your home network that way?

I have our HP printer wired directly to the network, and any device on the network (wireless or wired) can print to it. HP distributes a software that scans the devices on the network for the printer, so after connecting it, you just configure devices with the software.

hp deskjet ink 3525.

I used to use that but it was a hassle to disconnect and reconnect to my home network whenever i wanted to print something.

It has no ethernet. Wifi Direct and what they call ePrint.

Plus i dont have a conventional router its one of those stupid hotspot thingy
