set the overclock profile to X.M.P, this will set your ram to its XMP profiles and force the CPU to stay at 4.4 (turbo) at all times..... Be cautious of benchmarks that use AVX code as DC chips add 0.2v to themselves for some unknown reason meaning Prime95 (version 26.6+) will cause your 4790k to overheat very quickly even at stock.

It's the best way; just spend an afternoon doing it, then once you find your limitations, set it to that and you'll be done for a while. I won't say ever again, but nonetheless it'll be worth it.
