Remote Desktop Gaming

I don't know if what I'm trying to do is possible but I just got a new laptop and I use Splashtop 2 a lot to access my gaming desktop at home.  I mostly use it as a productivity tool but every once in a while I'll play a few games, streaming them from my desktop.  Is it possible to use a gamepad connected to my laptop to play games that I'm streaming?  I have a Logitech F710 and it works fine when I play games that are locally installed but It wont work when I'm trying to use it with a streamed game.  Is there some type of configuration issue or some type of software I need to install to make it work?  I hope I can get this working because I really hate gaming on a laptop form factor even with a wireless mouse :)
