I am about to install my second R9 290 and people have said I have to install profiles for games to run more efficiently. ok thats fine but;

What exactly are they?

Doesn't the GPU driver updates include them anyway and if i always make sure my drivers are up to date i wouldnt have a problem right?

How do I follow them for Radeon cards if i have to install ?

And how do I use them. the internet states i just install them and they detect the game. seems simple, is it that easy?

They exist for single GPU's but again where are they?

Thanks for the help :)

Well for your video card or cards you can save oc/fan setting profiles so that is one thing and as for gaming well there is software that detects your games and then optimizes settings for them.  It is quite a simple process for all I have talked about.

I think what you are talking about btw specifically is AMD Gaming Evolved.

You don't need to, these days all you need comes with the driver package. In the past crossfire users could install separate CAP files which included crossfire profiles for different games.

I was going to say I had Raptr, but i deleted it just before i hit post. Raptr lies lol recommends low when games run on Ultra @ 60fps. But if it keeps my drivers and "profiles" up to date then I am set :).

Cheers I was hoping it was old tech because everytime I research it. the links take me to a driver i already have :)

See for me I don't even have an AMD card.  I just want it installed so I can pick up free rewards when I play certain games through the rewards program Raptr has.
