Old Case

Go to solution Solved by ERSCreeper,

So i have a case from around 2000 and its a atx case.

My problem is that the case doesn't have a cpu cut out and i plan to get a asrock FM2A88X with the A10 7850k, also i dont plan to buy an aftermarket cooler yet but i plan to buy a new case and a cooler together in the future.

I want to know if the lack of cpu cut out is going to be a problem?

Thanks for the help  :)

No it should not be a problem.

Not THAT strange the cpu cutout on value cases is something that hasnt been around for thaaat long expecially if you have prebuild pcs.

You have to screw in the CPU cooler and id be good if you put in the RAM at the same time (depends on the cooler but its more comfy that way trust me), tehn you fire it up if it runs and tha CAREFULLY put the whole motherboard in the case.

See? No problem but not quite comfortable.

new case could fix that ;)  :P

its the first time i am building and also i was planning on making a out of the case check before installing it all back in so its not changing the order im doing the build.

Also the computer wasn't pre-build, a friend of mine build it a long ago, and it wasn't at the time a value computer, it was considered a top of the line.... but makes me feel sad about how low our standers were back then.

thats not surprising

keep in mind what magnificent increases in performance we've seen since 128mb of ram  ;)  cases just adapted to the growing demands builders had.

my first build was in a Sharkoon Rebel 9 which has neither any place for cable management or a cpu cutout.

i didnt want to degrade your build there
