I'm thinking about picking this up. What do you guys think about it? I haven't seen if it's possible to upgrade the RAM and SSD, but if so then this thing is amazing. For on $230 you get 2GB of RAM, a dual-core 2.6GHz CPU, a 13 inch screen, and you can expand the memory with a Micro SD Card. Some tablets cost more for less than this. Here it is.

For what it offers, it's pretty good -- but many say it's sluggish at times.

Watch this comparison review.

I just looked at that, it's what made me remember that Linus talked about it on the WAN show. If you could upgrade the RAM though, it would probably run just fine.

Honestly, you get what you pay for. $230 is not a lot of money at all for a new laptop, so definitely some sacrifices.

Yeah, I lived with a Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 for a couple years. Single core 1.66GHz, 1 GB, Windows 7. Thing ran like shit, and got super hot. No matter what this will run a lot better.

I would get the HP one then. 4GB ram would help a lot.

Looks like it's not upgradeable.  :(

eMMC  = embedded Multi-Media Controller

So no, not upgradeable.

Damn, that would've just added to the value. Thanks for the clarification.

I never knew that D:

@OP It depends on what you do. If all you're doing is web browsing, netflix, word processing, etc -- get the Chromebook.

That's probably all I'd do. Mainly use it for streaming movies and videos from my server, and school work. I've got a TB of Drive already thanks to my One M8. So I think I'll go the Chromebook route.
