At random times my computer will shut itself off. I have my it set so its suppose to go to a blue screen before its shut off (I think I its like automatic restart disabled or something like that) but it hasn't been. I figure its not my CPU because then more than likely it wouldn't boot at all, its not virus's because I have ran multiple scans, but I have ran mem test twice and both times during the test my computer shut off. Also one last thing when it shuts off it will instantly try to turn itself back on but cant and immediately shuts off again, then I have to unplug and turn off the PSU to get it to turn on at all. Pleas help me figure this out! Thanks so much

My system:

3770k (delidded)

asrock z77 extrem 4

32gb of 1600mhz gskill ram

most likely to be the ram. You should run memtest to be sure.

sounds like what recently happened to me and all I did was make sure that all my cables were plugged in correctly or even re-plug them back in.

I did run mem test twice both times my computer shut down =/

oh yeah lol. maybe you should try using one ram dimm after the other to spot the damaged one. Just take half of it out and try everything again.

Sure the AC rating is set correctly ? And theres no shortage ?

My suggestion, pull everything out apart from PSU, Mobo, and Ram and see if that helps. If you are saying it keeps rebooting then i dont think you need a hard disk to diagnose this problem.
