Chemical engineering HALP D:

How would you answer this?

"Identify if and how certain parts have a synergetic effect Identify if and how certain parts have a synergetic effect "

In a liquid liquid extractor? The compartments are sieve plate column, heavy phase feed tank, light phase feed tank, settling chamber.

My english isn't the best D: Thanks in advance!

I think that if there is more heavy phase at the bottom of the columns, the increase in pressure would further forces the lighter phase upwards. So you would get quicker extraction than just the centrifugal separation caused by the impellor.

This is wildly speculative, just a layman's guess.
