Hello, I am upgrading (by upgrade I mean fix. Some Pci slots are defective) my system from my old sandy bridge to either ivy bridge or the new haswell. As I have an lga 2011 board I will have to get a new mobo either way.

What do you guys think?

Asus ROG Maximus V Formula with a 3570K

or a

Gigabyte G1 Sniper M5 with a new Haswell Cpu (If yes which one?)

Is it worth going with the Ivy Bridge or Haswell set up?

I have the sniper m5 in my new build and its freaking sweet! If you don't know the motherboard itself has a tracer light on it. So if your going for a black and green build id say go with haswell. Also Haswell isn't that much more. Mostly the extra cost will be with your motherboard, but since you would go with the sniper M5 you still save some money instead of the maximus

Wait, are you upgrading from Sandy Bridge-E, or Sandy Bridge?

regardless, could you let me know your CPU, power supply, and motherboard?

Thanks for all your support so far but I think I may just live with the problems I have until the Asus ROG Maximus VI Formula comes out as I think it is my best bet. :)

Good luck, and let us know if you need any help.

So you have an LGA 2011 CPU? I mean unless the new generations features are so important for you, your best upgrade would be a new motherboard, since going to 1155 or 1150 would just take you backwards in terms of performance.

The problem is that the board is damaged and I need to replace it. At the moment I can't afford a more expensive board again. :)

Well I'm pretty sure the price of a new board and a new CPU tops the price of a new 2011 board. if you don't have enough money now, simply wait, it would make absolutely no sense to go to 1155 or 1150 if you have a 2011 CPU.
