Well that's in AUS, so you're overbudget if you go 3k AUS. Also I'm guessing this isn't for gaming then if you wanted just 970 in SLI.

dual 970s are pretty good and they are cheaper

You'll get more performance with an i5 + 980s in SLI compared to i7 + 970 in SLI, the latter being your build is also more expensive.

 but they are way more expensive like $400 each more so thats $800 and the price difference between an i5 and i7 is not that much i would be like $700 over

It's up to you. Once again, I don't think you fully understand. The build I gave you is 2800 AUS dollars, which is about 3100NZD. Yours is 3100AUS dollars which is 3400 NZD. You're way off budget. You WILL get more FPS in gaming with a 980SLI + i5 which costs 3100NZD compared to your i7 + 970SLI which is 3400NZD.
