Looking for new GPU

Hi all so I am looking for a GPU, mainly for gaming on new games at high-ultra settings on a single 1080p monitor. I have MAX £300 but would rather the £200 mark if possible without sacrificing any performance. 

 

Now I was looking at the Asus 970 Strix 4Gb but can not decide if this is overkill for a single monitor gaming setup? I am really out of touch with GPU specs and performance tbh and can't decide what to go for, any suggestions? My current specs are as follows:

 

CPU: 4770K no OC yet

RAM: 8GB dominator platinum @ 1600MHz, soon to be 16GB

MOBO: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming

HDD: WD Black 1TB

SSD: Soon to be intel 730 250GB

PSU: Corsair CX750M 

CASE: Corsair C70, soon to be Corsair air 540

 

I'd really appreciate any help.

I'd go for the 970.

If you can get the 970, then yes. The last gen GTX 770 would get that done, though the 4GB model is hard to find.

Games will be requiring more vRAM in the future, so the 4GB will be a good "Future Proofer"

970. It's not overkiill at all. I'll go as far and say that with good AA is not even enough for some games. (Especially for AC Unity)

4k monitor isnt a overkill but if ur in a 1080p still get the card for da future

Hmm was hoping to save some cash, but looks like it's gunna be the 970. It''ll run fine with my 750w PSU right? And @TheDKClub, yeah saw it the other day and fell in love with it. Getting the white version and having red LED's, and will have red coolant etc in my w/c loop :3.
