I'm on a small budget at the moment (€1000) and I have to choose.

An SSD (120GB) or an HDD (1-2TB)

With the 7200 RPM HDD's on the market is it really worth it to sacrofice such storage (I'm a gamer, so like 5 games and it's plain full :S) for the speed an SSD offers.

Ofcourse I will get budget soon to expand my storage (in August I will have plenty to spend for my rig) but June till August in summer vacation with limited storage to game, I don't know if that's ideal or is the difference really worth it?

And how about RAID 0 I suppose the HDD's are able to achieve faster speeds if I put two of them in RAID 0 (when I can afford a second HDD).

Please help me out on this one :>

Sincerely,

Pruxis

Can your survive with only 4-5 (small) games until August? It would be easier to get the SSD first, install the OS and a few games, and then put a secondary HDD in later.. If you went with the HDD first, you would need to reinstall the OS and all your games when you got the SSD in the future.

Of course, it's not really a problem to re-install the OS and everything if you got the SSD later.. When I bought my laptop, I went with a 500 GB HDD first, and installed a 120 GB SSD later.. If your games are on Steam/Origin, all you need to do is log in, and set the games to install to the correct drive.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

I guess I'll do it that way
