So I want to hear your thoughts on this. Do you think it's worth going for a reference gtx 980 with a little extra performance out of the box or just a normal 980 w/o the SC. Also, what 980 do you think performs the best? Let me know, all suggestions are appreciated :)

I just picked up a EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX2.0, I've been playing around with overclocking tonight and have it stable at 1371/1472 boost GPU clock and 1886 memory.

At some point it goes from a noticeable difference when playing games to just being better benchmark numbers, but it's still fun to push your hardware and see what you can get out of it.

I have a Reference GTX980 SC and it's a beast. At stock my card boosts 1366MHz and 1753MHz on the memory. On my overclock my GPU boosts at 1539MHz and 1900Mhz on memory! Buy one now, I would either go with the EVGA 980s or Gigabytes 980s.

What voltage did you have to put through your card to get that overclock?

At 1.2 I was able to get 1467 boost, 1898 memory stabilized and didn't see my temps go over 65C.

all i had to do is add 6mV and it stabilized. Power target at 125% and GPU temp at 91C. With my custom fan curve i was running at 70C under load.

Nice, I didn't try to push my power target past 120% as I wanted to keep the temps low. Maybe I'll give it a shot and play around with the fan curve some more.
