Should I switch to mint?

I'm considering moving from Windows 8.1 to Mint until Windows 10 is released, my only concern is the Adobe suite.

Could I run a Windows 7 virtual machine for Adobe stuff?

What is driver support like on Linux?

You could run Adobe stuff in a virtual machine, but it will run like crap. Especially if you plan on trying to use Premiere or After Effects. I would suggest trying to dual boot Mint and Windows. Use Mint for everything, but keep Windows for Adobe stuff.

In terms of driver support, its really good as long as you don't have anything to unusual in your system. Things like RAID cards or maybe some sound cards might not work to well. It just depends. I always had a hard time getting MIDI stuff to work in Fedora.

Mint is a great option, as I have it on my laptop, and couldn't be happier. Very familiar to windows users, but much faster, stable, and  secure than windows. And as you most likely already know, it's free.

I STRONGLY recommend it for anyone.
