Upgrading Graphics Cards, need help choosing.

I can't decide which one to get because I am not sure which is better and I definitely need an upgrade from my GTX 670.

 

I want to get a card that I won't need to change for at least 2-3 years. I cannot get 2 970s or 980s at the moment but in the future I might be able to get 1 more, either 970 or 980.

in linus holiday buying guide he states that sli 970s are better than a single 980 due to the price to performace ratio......id go 970 and never look back

Dont forget that, as per Linus, dual sli gtx 970 is only 20% more expensive than a single 980 and packs alot more punch.

But is it still better if I get 1 right now and maybe another in like 6 months to a year. And should I get the strix or G1 gaming.

if you can afford to buy the 2 gtx 970 G1 right now, its better. but in 6 months, its still okay. the longer the time span between the purchased of Gpus, increase the chances the model are slightly different and MAY or may not cause compatibility issues.

 

I'd wait to buy both 970 at the same time. #justmytwocent
