Hey guy, first off...thanks for taking your time to read this post, greatly appreciated

Between these gpu which 1 will you recommend? i am running an i3-4330/ 1680x1050 monitor

A. 760 GTX 2gb/4gb

B. R9 285

C. GTX 770 ( surprisingly found 1 for 270 bucks, is it bad or something? ) http://www.amazon.com/GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5-GeForce-256-bit-PCI-Express-OC-selected/dp/B00D3F7CFK/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1415956327&sr=1-2&keywords=gtx+770

I know most of you will recommend the 970 but i am on a tight budget ( 350 including PSU ) and have to buy a new power supply aswell ( thanks alot for the psu recommendations! ).

if you are staying at that res for the foreseeable future, a 750ti will do you fine, a 760 or 270X are good aswell.

The 770 would be my pick but if you want stupidly good value for money, the R9 280 (not the 285) is hard to beat.

Then again, I have no idea what part of the world you're in and what the pricing is like there.

I was looking for the 280 and OC it to match a 280x  but i read it artifacts like crazy i was like wuuuuuuuut....oh hell no.

I currently run the 750 ti BUT i messed up my current monitor....flying harddrive gone wrong, I dont feel comfortable with the performance i mean, it runs AC Unity 40 fps on high 1680x1050 but i want something more beefy

The states, is the Asus 770 that i linked good? cuz 250 bucks for a 400+ gpu seems a bit sketchy

Wrong card. Those were the 280X's, not the 280's.

The 280X's had an issue with overheating VRM's. The 280's have no such problem.

My bad, so since the 280 and 280x are basically the same card, if I oc the 280 up to the 280x will I get stumble with such problem?

No, not really. It was a problem with the 280X BIOS that caused the issue. It has since been resolved (as far as I know) and in no way affects the 280's. I got mine running at 1100mhz with stock voltage and some people got over 1200mhz with voltage tweaks.

You want one with a good cooler though, like the Sapphire, Gigabyte or Asus.

Oh sweet, ill go for the r9 280 then, which one of those brands you recommend? I wont do any voltage tweak, also how many 12vamps are sufficient for that card? Since its a bit of a power hungry? Also does urs run cool?

For $270 you can get an R9 290. Don't get a 770 over a 290.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

I've heard the Gigabyte is quite good with it's 3 fan cooler. I'm using the Sapphire Dual-X. It's not bad but t did heat up when I got it at 1100mhz . I'm sure I can get it higher but that's as high as I want it to get to keep the noise and temps down.

On stock, while gaming, mine hits about 55-60 Celsius with 50%-60% fan. Overclocked, I can hit about 70-75C with about 65%-75% fan speed. For beastie, punishing games that use 100% GPU all the time, it got as hot as 77C with 82% fan, but that is rare and it only happens in Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition with extreme AA turned on (not even Crysis 3 or BF4 has this issue).

I just brought a card in this price bracket and ended up with a 285. So there's my suggestion. The 770 went a bit above the price range I was after and the 285 was about the same price as the 760 and the 280. Those were my options. I ruled out the 280 because at the same price it performed the same as the 285 but lacked freesync. Same price with less features? No thanks, so 760 vs 285. I ended up with the 285 partly because I took a gamble that freesync would win out in the end. But TBH it was mostly because XFX's 285 was the only card in that price range that retailer had with a black PCB with no silly red accents on the shroud. ;)
