This is my first time posting here, but I have been wanting to build this rig for awhile and it's my first time with anything with this kind of budget, and I'm looking for advice.

I was wondering about the case I picked (Corsair's 450D) and was wondering if there was anything similar that didn't looked like brushed aluminum. And I'm planning on doing SLI in the future (GTX 970), is my PSU good enough for the peak wattages and will I have space? Thanks ahead of time.

This is a better psu

A single 512SSD works out cheaper. The Crucial MX100 is very good.

And as suggested, go with a Z97 board otherwise you will need to do a bios update (More than likely)

The Gigabyte Z97 sniper is a great gaming board

Nothing in the OP suggests a need for 16GB of memory. I would also suggest something that matches the black and red of the motherboard. Get a single larger ssd. A 750W psu is more than enough power for the system with a second gpu. In fact 550W would be enough. I would suggest a less expensive but very good quality psu. Monitor, like other peripherals depends on personal taste. I doubt a GTX 970 is going to generate enough fps in many games to take advantage of a 144MHz refresh rate. And, I personally like IPS monitors with their better color reproduction and wider viewing angles.
