Are all charging cables equal?

Just curious as to if all USB to Micro-USB cables to charge your devices are the same.

Yes, some are obviously nicer quality though. Thicker cable, better connector and such

The actual plug parts provide different voltages.

No they aren't all the same...

samsungs charging cables and phones (starting with the GS4 i think) have extra pins to allow the device to charge faster

 

but if you are asking because you are wondering if its ok to plug in a phone with a tablet charger. yea its fine, it wont explode.. probably

Some of the cheaper ones use a thinner gauge of wire which can cause some devices to charge slower. The quality of the connectors might vary, but from my experience they are all about the same. So for the most part they are all close to the same, but some of them might stand out(in good ways and bad ways).

No, not all the same /quality/. The cheapest I go is stuff from monoprice. Any cheaper and I've had charging issues (taking many more hours to charge with one cable vs another) because of wire gauge.
