I know it can be done because I've seen NCIX's video with Linus showcasing their NZXT H440 build, but what is needed, or how would I use the G10 bracket with a GPU backplate?

I believe it won't be an issue if you plan to mount it over top of the backplate so the NZXT mounting plate is over top of the backplate, you'll need longer screws and nylon washers.

Here's someone who's tried that mounting method (3/4 down the page):

In order to use a backplate with the G10 bracket you need to either remove the foam pad that comes on the G10's backplate, or thin it down.  Me personally, I thinned mine down.  I used a fish-fileting knife and an electric sharpener while wearing gloves.  It took some time, but I got it thinned down and was able to use my EVGA backplate with my Kraken G10.

Remember safety first, use some gloves.
