G10's Mounting Plate

Faceman

This is what the mounting plate of the G10 looks like. On the mounting plate, there is a rubbery type of foam. This is normally fairly thick and is used as protection for the PCB of the back of the card. If you intend to keep your EVGA Backplate installed, you will have to thin out this rubbery foam. This was another long and difficult process. I had to use a fileting knife and wore gloves. I strongly recommend you wear gloves if you attempt to do this, and keep an electric sharpener nearby. You will have to resharpen the knife a few times in order to get it to cut properly. Once this foam piece is slimmed down, you will be able to keep your EVGA Backplate installed when mounting the G10. If you don't slim the foam down, the screws will not be long enough.
